Our private boutique archery venue is called Sherwood, as in Robin Hood’s famed Sherwood Forest. Sherwood is nestled in a beautiful forest bordered by a stream, on the Southern end of Ashland, Oregon, only three miles from downtown, making it a very accessible and convenient location. We have an Outdoor archery area (for when the weather is suitable) and an Indoor archery pavilion, both with lot’s of fun targets. At “Sherwood” we specialize in a unique, one-of-a-kind style of archery & coaching for individuals, couples and groups that makes learning and practicing archery easy for everyone!

All archery coaching sessions at Sherwood are by Appointment Only, reserved in advance. We are NOT open for the general public to “drop by”. Please be sure to obtain prior approval from Moonbow Archery to enter our private property before visiting Sherwood. Text (808) 870-6131 for reservations.

Take a break from the constant stress & busyness of daily life and experience archery with us at Sherwood. We have an indoor pavilion for fun target practice during all seasons & an outdoor roving target practice area. Our unique venue and traditional style of archery will transport you to a different time when life was simpler and far less complicated. You may even find yourself getting re-acquainted with latent aspects of your intuitive nature (your inner Robin Hood or Artemis) and tap into natural instincts that tend to get neglected in our modern lifestyle. Shooting arrows helps us unify mind and body, relax, de-stress, breathe, quiet the mind, increase our awareness, find our balance, improve our focus, develop core and upper body strength, burn calories and develop archery skills.

At Sherwood, we choose to forego using any aiming accoutrements on our bows like peep sights and sighting pins. Instead, we practice Instinctive-Style archery only, using Intuitive aiming methods. We call this: Aiming from the ❤️.

ARCHERY COACHING

We offer private archery coaching /lessons by appointment for individuals, couples, friends, business groups & families, plus we host school, community and corporate groups. We cater to a wide range of skill levels, from beginners to advanced.

WEEKLY OPEN RANGE SESSIONS

For those who are looking for a regular place to practice archery, Sherwood may be your place! Once you complete a Private lesson or an Orientation session at Sherwood, you may be invited to join any of our weekly OPEN RANGE sessions. Each week, we do lots of target practice with a fun, supportive group of people representing many different styles of archery (recurve, longbow, horseback, modern, etc) and levels of experience from beginner to more advanced, all shooting instinctive-style. We have an assortment of targets both indoors and outdoors ranging in distance from 10 to 40 yards, including some fun 3D targets. Most of our targets are rated up to 40#.

* Shooting at any of our weekly Open Range Sessions requires that you first complete at least one private lesson or attend one of our Orientation Sessions. In these sessions you’ll shoot with one of our instructors, go over safety, use of equipment, archery etiquette and orientation at Sherwood.

** PRACTICING HEALTHY ARCHERY:  We continue to be mindful of all State Health and Safety requirements! Practicing archery at Sherwood allows us to utilize appropriate measures. If you are not feeling well, please be sure to seek immediate medical assistance before attending any of our archery activities!

We Offer Both Group & Private Archery Lessons for Adults, Teens & Youth

Moonbow Archery has several highly competent and experienced archery professionals who are all Certified USA Archery Instructors. We specialize in training archery enthusiasts in Instinctive-Style archery, with emphasis on proper archery technique and form, utilizing positive reinforcement with a methodical, consistent, fun approach to our lessons. We call this method: Aiming from the Heart.
